First Reconciliation & Eucharist

Baptised children who reach the age of reason (about age 7) are invited to receive Reconciliation and the Eucharist (Communion) for the first time. In order to prepare the children, we ask parents and children to participate in a series of preparation sessions.

Baptised Catholic children who are in Grade 2 or older may begin preparation to receive both the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist (Communion).

If your child has not been baptised (Catholic) and wishes to celebrate the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion, please complete our online inquiry form; click HERE.

First Reconciliation (Confession)

In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, each child meets Christ, and encounters God’s loving forgiveness in a new and very personal way.

First Eucharist (Communion)

In the Eucharist we partake of the body and blood of Christ. During the preparation for First Communion, children will learn that the gifts of bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. The regular reception of this Sacrament strengthens our bond with Christ.
