Hospitality North

Hospitality North

On a weekly basis St. Michael’s hosts a sit-down hot meal to individuals who are experiencing food insecurity, hardship or loneliness. Through the dedication of  St. Michael’s program volunteers and partners over 3,000 individuals are served over 33 weeks. During the summer break, St Michael’s continues to support nutrition programs to families within the St. Michael’s parish boundary.

Legion of Mary

Legion of Mary is a world- wide apostolic organization of Catholic women and men under the leadership of Mary, Queen of the Legion. Catholics 18 years or older, wanting to develop a greater spirituality in their lives while practicing the spiritual works of mercy, can apply to become a member.

The Legion of Mary sees its priority as the spiritual and social welfare of all. The members participate in the life of the parish through the visitation of families and the sick, both in their homes, in hospitals and through collaboration in every apostolic and missionary undertaking sponsored by the parish.

Social Justice

The social justice ministry of our family of parishes is a socially conscious and active group that works within our parishes and beyond to advocate for social policies that align with the Diocese of London and Christian teachings.  Based on the Seven Principles of Catholic social teachings, our ministry believes in the dignity and worth of every person and works to address the needs of those who are most vulnerable and have the least voice in our society.

Our ministry aims to bring awareness and to educate our community of existing injustices, to bring about change and to serve others less fortunate.  This is done through education, advocacy, and our charitable work.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is driven by love and justice whose mission is, “To live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy."

Within our parish boundaries, our volunteers respond to local needs with compassion. Service is provided to individuals in need through home visits. Volunteers in pairs meet at the client’s home to discuss their needs and to offer what assistance is available.

Volunteering with SSVP is an opportunity to transform lives, one act of kindness at a time. Whether you can spare just an hour a month or are ready for a long-term commitment, there are countless ways to get involved and support those in need.
